Last updated: December 1, 2025

This page explains how users can request deletion of any personal data that our app receives from Facebook / Meta products (including Facebook and Instagram) in connection with their use of This Just In (operated by This Just In News, Inc.; “This Just In,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This page is intended to satisfy Meta’s requirement that apps provide clear instructions for requesting deletion of user data obtained from Meta products.

1. What Data We Receive from Meta

When you connect your Facebook or Instagram account to This Just In, we may receive certain information from Meta, depending on the permissions you grant. This may include:

  1. Basic profile information (for example, your name, profile picture, and user ID).

  2. Contact information (for example, email address, if you choose to share it).

  3. Account metadata (for example, page or profile IDs you manage, and basic settings).

  4. Content-related information (for example, media IDs, captions, thumbnails, and engagement metrics) that you explicitly authorize us to access for features such as content management, analytics, or reposting.

  5. Other information that you explicitly consent to share through Meta’s login and permission screens.

We only use this information to provide and improve our services and to fulfill the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

2. How to Remove This Just In from Your Facebook / Meta Account

You can revoke our access to your Facebook or Instagram account at any time via your Meta settings. This will also stop any future data sharing from your Meta account to This Just In.

To remove our app from Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook account and click on “Settings & Privacy,” then select “Settings.”

  2. In the left-hand menu, click on “Apps and Websites” (or “Business Integrations,” depending on your account type).

  3. Find “This Just In” in the list of active apps and websites.

  4. Click “Remove”.

  5. Confirm removal when prompted. Facebook may also give you the option to delete posts, photos, or other content that the app may have published on your behalf.

To remove our app from Instagram (if applicable):

  1. Open Instagram and go to “Settings.”

  2. Navigate to “Accounts Center”, then to the section for “Apps and Websites” (or the equivalent as provided by Meta).

  3. Find “This Just In” in the list of connected services.

  4. Select it and follow the prompts to remove or revoke access.

Removing the app from your Meta settings stops future access, but does not automatically delete data we already store in our systems. To request deletion of that data, please follow the steps in Section 3 below.

3. How to Request Deletion of Data Stored by This Just In

You have the right to request deletion of any personal data that our app has received from Meta and that we store in our systems.

To request deletion, please send us a written request using one of the methods below:

  3. The Facebook or Instagram profile name and/or user ID (if known).

  4. A clear statement that you are requesting deletion of personal data related to your use of This Just In that was obtained from Meta products.

I am requesting deletion of all personal data associated with my Facebook/Instagram account that This Just In has obtained via Meta products.
Name: [Your Name]
Email: [Your Email]
Facebook/Instagram profile name: [Your Profile Name]
I request that you delete this data from your systems in accordance with applicable laws and your Privacy Policy.

4. What Happens After We Receive Your Deletion Request

Once we receive a valid Meta data deletion request:

  1. We will confirm receipt of your request, usually by email to the address you provided.

  2. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity and ownership of the relevant Facebook/Instagram account (for example, by asking you to respond from the email associated with your account or by other verification methods).

  3. We will locate all personal data in our systems that we have received from Meta products in connection with your account.

  4. We will delete or irreversibly anonymize this data from our active systems without undue delay, subject to any legal obligations described in Section 5 below.

  5. After deletion, we will send you a confirmation that the process has been completed.

If we use service providers (for example, cloud hosting or analytics vendors) that process Meta-derived data on our behalf, we will also instruct them to delete the relevant data, consistent with our agreements and applicable law.

5. Retention, Legal Obligations, and Backups

In some cases, we may be required by law or legitimate business needs (for example, fraud prevention, security, or accounting) to retain certain limited data for a period of time, even after a deletion request. In such cases:

  1. We will store only the minimum amount of data necessary for those specific purposes.

  2. We will restrict access to that data to personnel who strictly need it for those purposes.

  3. We will delete it once the applicable retention period or legal requirement expires.

Data that is stored in our backup systems will be deleted in the ordinary course of our backup lifecycle. We do not use backup copies for any active processing other than for security, continuity, and disaster recovery.

6. Correction of Data and Other Rights

If you believe that any data we hold about you that was obtained from Meta is inaccurate or incomplete, you may contact us at support@thisjustin.live and request correction.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, or restriction of processing). These rights are described in more detail in our main Privacy Policy, which can be found at:
